Huygens to Titan
Maths Problem
Please help, I know this is fairly easy
2.4(2x+3)=-0.1(2x+3)
How do I get the decimal into a whole number, multiply by 100? (2 decimals to the right)
I think I got the rest after that
Thanks

2.4(2x+3)=-0.1(2x+3)
4.8x+7.2 = -0.2x-3
4.8x+0.2x = -3-7.2
5x = -10.2
x = (-10.2)/5
x = -2.04
Simple.
Edit: Answer's not 43. And 42 was a joke you didnt get. Now...question is...why'd you want to get rid of the decimal? You're still gonna get the same final answeer.

Distributive property of math says that:
a • (b + c) = (a • b) + (a • c)

Now, for real math problems -- anyone want to teach me all about the span of a set of vectors? We just covered it in Multivariate Analysis and Approximation, and I got none of it.

and you don't know that -0.1*3=-0.3 and not -3? You have an F, check it again

Now... lets have an English lesson...
Is it "Maths problem" or "Math problem"?
-
its maths!
mathematics consists of several sciences including:
algebra
trigonometry
and geometry.
therefore it's mathematics (plural), and maths (plural).
grrr, those americans

"Math" is just shorthand for us. We don't add anything ('s') because it wasn't meant to be a seperate word. (Sorry for the poor example) If you're addicted to methanphenimines, we call you a meth addict. Not a "meths addict."
The 's' is just implied.
