    dynamically loading/viewing animated .gif?

    Hi,

    is there any way possible to dynamically load and view animated .gifsin Flash?

    Create a new movie and import the animated gif on stage.
    The load this movie into your parent movie.

    but that still means having to have Flash, is there no way to load an animated Gif into an .swf? without that first step? converting the .gif during runtime? anything??

    You probably have tried and I tried it, the gif does not animate when loaded dynamically. I would not know of any other way.

    I was wondering if perhaps theres a way of converting using php a animated .gif to a compatible format for Flash to load in dynamically....? maybe animated .gif to a video format? etc?

    It doesn't work that way, i've tried and failed. If anyone found a way to overcome this, do post.
