Actionscript editor for Mac OSX?!?!
I am currently on the market for a [preferrably free] Actionscript editor for my shiny new Macbook Pro. On my PC, I used SE|PY Actionscript Editor, but the Mac build keeps giving me problems. I am willing to spend some money since I will use it just about every day and I can't stand the Flash IDE. Please point me in the right direction! Thanks alot.

Hi,
I've move the thread to the mac forum as you may get more responses here then the boardroom.

there is SEPY, but its unstable.
Ive been searching for something as an alternative to flash aswell for OSX, but there seems to be no 'IDE' thats suitable.
If my lower-level programming knowledge was better, i would attempt to write IDE...but now im fueling it with hopes and dreams.

TextMate, isn't free but is pretty cheap.
It's got lots of good built in things for actionscript and is extensible, it's also a great editor for countless other languages with lots of built in auto completion.

Before I switched to TextMate, I was using XCode with the Actionscript language package.

XCode is free, it comes with the Apple developer tools which came with your Mac and are also available to download for free from Apple.

jedit
Hey there,
I've recently found an awesome blog post dedicated directly to the use of a free text editor to develop flex applications. This editor is called jedit.

Have fun.
I'm trying.

jedit seems to be the perfect flex editor
The above link explains how to set it up.

Flex SDK and Eclipse. Without the intelligent code hinting you are still in the stone age.
