OOP is one letter from OOPS
Mods: if me posting this violates anything, please remove. I know there is some sensitivity around discussing pricing, but this is freely available on the web:

You should have already agreed the prices before commencing any work, in truth.
However, I think it works best to charge by the hour. Ask the boss what they think is a fair price per hour and then send them an invoice for your 8 hours.
Best regards,

I found something similar the other day here

I thought it was quite good but mainly relevant to people working on rates in northern England.
Well, anyway, enjoy.

All of this belonged in the Boardroom IMO. It's why it's here.
You prepare in the boardroom. You step up in freelance.

Thanks guys,
Yeah, I really should've brought it up with him before I started work.
But the initial deadline was the same day (luckily we got an extension), so it was kind of a rush to get started... so I decided not to mention anything at that time.
I'm sure they have big budgets for this kind of thing, so they probably won't mind paying me a bit more per hour. Especially as most of the work was done out of office hours... and I had to rush around a lot.

Request a move over to Boardroom.

Sorry, I didn't see the Boardroom forum.

Thanks for seeing I'm here
I'm not asking for deletion, just a bump over to the Boardroom where it is more suitable. We try to keep freelance a clear playing field

Cheers, I'll know where to post this kind of topic in the future.

Will,
For the future, always follow Client Tip #1: Always have a contract and Client Tip #2: Always get a down payment. It'll save you and your clients a ton of headaches.
