    Making audio play no matter what

    Im looking to add background music to an existing project originally done by a flash programmer who is now AWOL. The complexity of the script used is completely unnecessary, however, we have no choice but to work around it.

    I am trying to add background audio and make it play throughout the entire presentation. The problem I am experiencing is that the audio automatically mutes itself when an overlapping piece of audio plays - we want the audio to continuously run in the background.

    I have tried loading the music from an external swf onto its own layer, but that doesn't work. Any suggestions would be most appreciated.

    Thank you.

    Is this related to Actionscript 3?

    All you need to do is place the sound object for the background sound in a MovieClip.

    var soundMC:MovieClip = _root.createEmptyMovieClip("soundMC",_root.getNext HighestDepth());
    var backSound:Sound = new Sound (soundMC);

    etc.
