    "Please wait" animation competition

The "please wait" animation looks tired of waiting for a new animation to replace it. If you are tired of seeing this animation then please submit an entry into the 3D Flash Animator "Please wait" animation competition. The winner will be announced as soon as we have a winner. Entries need to be submitted in the .movie format.
    Cheers,

One question, is it that particular "Please wait" animation or please wait as a preloader in general?

It's the one thats says "please wait" while exporting a movie, but it could also be used as a preloader.

Determining the exact level of progress is impractical because there is no fixed relationship between numbers of elements and time per element, so any notion of progress in the animation should appear as symbolic. It only really needs to convey that the application hasn't frozen and that it will be finished exporting soon.

Alternatively, you could have two progress indicators, one for the number of elements processed and one to indicate the progress through slow elements.

The animation should not have too many moving images, as this would consume processing time and make the export slower.

Unfortunately, too much processing power required to render large moving gradients.

Thankyou for the submissions. I particularly like Lewxx's later work. As good as everybody's efforts are, i think we need something just a little more conservative. I'm thinking - a simple progress bar, or a clockface timer, or some other graphical indicator. Animated text is probably overkill. The motion will often be jerky, and we must keep the processor cycles to a minimum.

Here is one more.. however, it is not working too well in preview, elements flicker on/off, but an exported flash is ok! It has something to do about child elements..

I've updated again, but It's very hard for me to make conservative movies in Flash ^^

    Everyone is a winner.

Several of Lewxx's animations and one of Finjogi's animations will be included in a new collection of 'Loading movies' in Beta version 6, which will be available very soon.

As for the 'Please wait' animation that appears during export, the jury is still out until next week.
