server requirements to use flv files

I have an swf that loads a progressive downloading flv file (both located in same place). I've made sure the component settings are pointing to the exact location and everything seems to be ready to work. I've posted the files on one remote server and it works fine, but it doesn't want to load the flv files on another server. Is there some sort of settings that need to be altered on this server? I don't know alot about it. It seems to handle Flash 8 files fine and everything else, just not the flv files.
