Making a Flex SWC usable with Flash CS3
Hey all,
I've been looking all over, and I haven't been able to find a single solution to this problem online, so I turn to the good people of flashkit AS3 forum for an answer
I would like to create a compiled class library which can be used with flash CS3. It's easy to do this with Flex.. just create a new Flex Library project, add some code, and you get an .swc file in your bin folder. It looks like this swc file cannot be read by cs3 though...
Any suggestions will be greatly appreciated

I dont use Flex but I use .swc files with Flash all the time. Did you try adding the swc to your components folder so they show up in the components panel? (make sure to restart Flash)

Yep
The component doesn't even show up in the components window

Is it an AS2 or AS3 component? If its AS2, it will only show up if your publish settings for the current file are AS2.

Did you check the box, which says to show up in the component window?

Where would such a box be ?
Up until now I've been using Flex to create a Flex Library Project.
Is there a similar type of project in Flash CS3?

When you click on the component in the library and open the component definition there is a checkbox, which says: Display in components panel
I am not sure that is the problem you have.
