    Rotate a 3D object in Flash 9?

    Hi,
I had a model built by a rhino 3d artist. File format is 3DM. I would like to be able to show it to viewers of my website with a controllable rotating view ... like the car at this website:
    http://www.chevrolet.com/corvette/colors/

    Any help would be appreciated.

hmmm. Rhino3D can output *.3ds files... but no matter what you do, it'll end up being pre-rendered in Flash via a renderer.

Also via Rhino3D, you should be able to send out *.ase files and use something like FlashSandy.

    Thanks.
I'll take a look at that Sandy site.

Any idea what that Chevy site used to made their 360 degree viewer?

that's a series of bitmaps attached to two buttons that control the play of a movieclip. looks like they took a series of pictures or just rendered the animation, output to bitmap, created a movie out of it, and whether or not you hit the left (reverse) or right (forward) that's how it plays.

the overlays and different colors are just loading the different movie clips and identical frames.

Just one way of thinking of how it could be done.
