    Modeling in Swift 3D V 4.5

    Hello There:
Ok I know that Swift 3D is not a very advance modeling software, but I was wondering if it's possible to achive the bolean effect in Swift.

Here is a jpeg of the logo I have.
    [IMG][/IMG]
I like to achive the effect in Swift and make a 3D model of this 2D logo.
I want to be able to make that V part penetrate into a sphere so I can achive the 3D effect.

Any help would be greatly appreciated.

    Thank you

No way around it...that's going to be a bit of a pain. The only thing I can suggest is that you start out with a sphere in the Advanced Modeler and place a reference image of that logo behind it. Then you would want to divide edges and reposition your vertices so your mesh lines match up with the cutout in the logo while still maintaining the shape of the sphere. After that's done, you would want to delete the extraneous faces and patch up the interior with some plane primitives.

i had a go at that logo. while it's not a sphere (more pil shaped) i think it worked out ok.

the high poly .t3d is attached if your interested however i would suggest you look at this mini tutorial for the method used to create the model. that way you can tweek it to the way you would like it.

    Woow

    Woow that's very cool.
    I'm speechless.
How did u achieve that effect?
I saw the tutorial but it's not exactly simillar to what I wanted to do.

Do u think it's possible to acheive the same effect using a sphere shape?

Take what he did into the Advanced Modeler and create a sphere primitive to use a shape reference. Then delete the back half of his logo sphere. Next enter Vertex Editing Mode and using the Scale Tool with it set to scale along the Z axis from the origin, slide all the existing vertices out until they match the shape of the guide sphere. When you are done you can mirror the front to create the back and weld up the mating verts.

    what he said. lol
ps: i would reconsider using a sphere. of course if the client insists then you gotta do it but if you think about it a spherical object will not display the logo "shape" for a large portion of the 360 degree angles from which you can observe the shape. for example in the spin above for the majority of the spin the logo would look like a circle with a slash through it. as a pill the origional shape is exposed longer.
