The porn sites, if you're connected well enough, do pay the most.

Trust. You have to deal with all kinds of content... some of which you just might not like.

Read into that whatever you wish. It's more than likely true... even that thought that just made you shudder.

There is TONS of money to make in that business but I am not sure how deep in that rabbit hole I would want to wander down into....

I don't know about that. I think it can be very profitable, but it looks like it's hard to get in the trust circle. People in that business are don't like sharing tips and strategies (opposite to other fields like earning money with adsense, web design, blogging, etc) because there's so much competition, people don't really want more people into that business. I'm not in that business, but I did a bit of research and came up with nothing :P

I think it's about the same as making money with any other type of content site: build a site, get affiliates, build traffic. Build traffic via ads, link exchanges, and maybe shady spam. Once you have a site with great traffic, make profit, and repeat the process. Maybe porn is a great business because there's a lot, a LOT of people stupid enough and willing to pay for what they can get for free.

People also tend to think porn sites are an easy way to make money, but I think that there's no such thing as easy money. As with any other type of site, you have to really invest into good design (not good looking, but good as in trapping the user and make him want to click on things [easier to do with porn stuff]), you need to invest into advertisement and spend a lot of time into building connections.

SEO becomes quite important, and it's scary how easily you can lose money, just because google decides to change something. I was earning $10 a day in a site, and went to earn 10 cents a day because google wasn't listing any of the images of the site on their images search.

I'm into blogging, and I've found it is a very complicated way to make money. Building traffic there pretty much depends on the quality of your content, but besides that, you need to spend a lot of time building relationships with other bloggers, create a community. It's too time consuming (that's why I make no money with that).

But, as business, the internet is great to make money. I've tried to convince my friends to get into it, but I just don't understand why they just refuse. Right now it's a goldmine, and it's unbelievable how people just don't want to exploit it. I'd do it, but don't have the time

The important thing to remember is that you have to spend money to earn money. I doubled my traffic by spending in ads. (Adwords sucks though, I spent a hundred dollars in a month, and it didn't work, while I used blogads, and it doubled my traffic in a week, eventhough I was just advertising in only two sites).

    Easy ways to make money:
    - search for niches. Create a simple site, add the content for that niche, do some search engine optimization, and put ads. Wait and earn. I did this: I searched for info of a very popular ecuadorian celebrity, grab all pictures available at all sites (very few content was available though), created a blog at blogger, posted for two weeks, all the content I had. A week later, the site was #1 on google for that celebrity. Since then, I enjoy $50 bucks a month, without any additional work (I guess the site will eventually die, but so far so good).

    - buy domain, build traffic, sell site. It doesn't make a lot of money if the site doesn't have traffic, but still is easy to make money from that. A domain that you buy for $8, can be sold for $100 a few months later. Specially if you're a webdesigner, and know a bit about cms and galleries, and php scripts, it's kind of easy money

    - wordpress, joomla, drupal templates. A good wordpress template can be done in 1 day. If you have some templates already, you can create new ones in just hours. I was checking sitepoint.com marketplace and it seems they sell from 40 to $100 a template. Easy money. I guess there are a lot of places to sell them too (templatemonster maybe?). Or, offer them for free, adding a link back to your site. If the template gets somehow popular, lots of people will visit your site to download it, and voila, an adsense block there will make you pocket money constantly.

Anyway, that's what I've doing these days: thinking on how to make money from the interweb
