    FLV server

    Hey everyone!

I'm doing research on deploying a video server to serve a large amount of videos and live web casts. I think we want to use Flash Media Server Pro but wanted to see if anyone knew of a better solution. We have the resources to purchase the hardware but wanted to see if anyone can suggest a 3rd party provider that will manage everything also. Or should we host these ourselves...pros and cons would be awesome!

Another question, anyone know how to implement thumbnails into the FLV player like youtube does to allow users to select other videos within the FLV UI?

    Thanks!!
    Nils

yep FMS would be a good way to go... you could use a host like www.influxis.com, you dont even have to change your current host, all u would need to do is put your video files on their server...

apart from that you could use a third-party online delivery soultions provider such as Akamai.. http://www.akamai.com/html/technolog...streaming.html

    hope that helps
