    computer arts article

    hey guys,

an interesting little article about freelance flash development in the latest issue of computer arts magazine page 34, it's only a couple of pages so you could read it in the shop if you wish!

synopsis : there's a shortage of heavyweight actionscripters and they get paid a lot

    Sweet, sweet music.

Although it's not huge news, I don't know about anyone else, but every agency I chat to complains that there's a shortage of good Flash coders.
Nice to have it in print though, makes it more "real".

Thanks for the heads-up Jim. I think I'll have to read it in the shop. I'm quite poor at the moment. :P

It's quite true, but the emphasis is on heavyweight, and preferably with agency experience. And you still get paid about half if you want a permanent role.

The ad-industry is quite vibrant at the moment though, and demand for online media has been increasing quicker than the amount of talent.

Good quality programmers have always earned decent money though, when's that gonna change, really?

Paul - I'll move back to hampshire for ten squillion pounds.
