    Screensaver creator requirements

Hi Guys I am desperately trying to find flash to screensaver conversion software. I have tried a number but not with all the following requirements:

    1. Vista & XT compatable
    2. Option to include password protection at installation or after setting an expiry date.
    3. Dual screen.

    Any suggestions??

im not sure a screensaver can be dual screen... :S

anyway... im not sure wether it would suit your needs but i use SWF studio, made by northcode on these forums...

you have to buy it to make ones that don't expire after 1 day tho... so depends on wether you are willing to pay any money

Thanks, I have tried Northcode. But it crashed on me each time.
I have been happy with Flash 2X, but it does not do dual screen or Vista.

Screenswift by 10miles does dual screen, but no password.

When did you last try SWF Studio (i.e. what version) and how did it crash?

    That's a LOT better than a "crash"

That's a problem we found in the SWF Studio compiler that was introduced in V3.4. If your main movie was created with Flash MX or you target the SWF6 format, SWF Studio chooses the wrong version of its core library to include and the build fails. This has been fixed in V3.5.

As grimm_88 mentioned, you can get around this problem in the current version of SWF Studio by checkinig the "Upgrade to SWF8 format" option on the Movie tab.

Important note about upgrading your main movie to SWF8

Upgrading your SWF6 movie to SWF8 might cause your application to behave strangely (or not work properly) if you have not been careful about the case of variable and object names in your code.

In Flash MX the variables "myVar" and "MyVar" are treated as the same, but in Flash 8 they are treated as different variables because case matters.

If you're not doing a lot of coding and just looking to make a nice screensaver then you probably won't run into any difficulties at all.

If you do run into trouble, please give me a shout ([email protected]) and I'll get you fixed up
