    Dear Sir/Madam,

This thread has been started to allow the Flash community to voice it's opinion over the poor performance of the Flash Plugin and Player for Macintosh.

We respectfully request that Macromedia make immediate improvements to the Flash player, to the end of matching it's performance and abilities to the plugin and player for PC.

    Sincerely,

Please sign the petition ONCE only, keep your comments polite and relevant or they may be deleted. This thread is going to be sent to Macromedia

It's allways good to have a fast player, so of course I'm in.

PS: Some bitmap/transpareny shape tweens are faster on the Mac player, but overall ... yup, make it faster.

    absolutely!

It seems as though standardization and compatibility are becoming more and more important with Macromedia...
With the inclusion Jakob Nielsen to the Macromedia team...to "improve usability", it seems as though modifications and improvements to the Flash player for Mac are long overdue.

    Thanks for asking!

Yep yep... I love Macintosh... but it's too bad when I'm pulling my hair out over something that won't display properly on the Mac, but does so on the PC. Pretty please, with Jaeger on top, optimize the Flash player for Mac...

I definitely support at least having the performances between the two platforms similar. It's frustrating that people that view any of my work - myself included! - that it's painfully slow on the Mac.

Or at least give a technical reason why, and a viable workaround, other than hoping that 13, 21, and 61 frames, among other odd numbers, will make all the difference.

With that, I'll gladly sign this partition. I hope that it makes a difference.

    Thank you in advance.

    please, make flash faster :-)

people, i think that a french post is a good way to say that A LOT of different people here REALLY wants to see flash faster. And i hope to see a lot of posts in different languages too... :-)

    Yep. I'm up for it.

If our target audience is not on Windows and we have to author a fast-paced game or a site with a lot of animation then we find ourselves constantly explaining to clients that it's just not feasible to use Flash while the Flash Player is so useless on all platforms other than Windows.

We are a Sydney-based Flash Development company and we use Flash all day every day. This is a serious problem for us.

P.S. There is also a kind of screen redraw problem with the MX player on Mac in IE whereby a strange red vignette often appears if the 'compress movie' option is checked when publishing.

Pay attention to Mac!! Go Mac! Go Flash!
Specifically, up the default memory to at least 5MB
and try to improve sound synch when set to stream.
Slower computers still lag while dropping frames.

    signing on.

i don't think giving us 4 options for fps (16, 21, 31 and 61 i think) is going to cut it. please fix this. how long has this been a factor? its not like your trying to find the cure for cancer. or maybe you are? didn't mean to be harsh, just concerned.
