Please post your favorite flash designer and his/her home site. Also, what you think of their work.

I would say my favorite is Eric Jordan.
    http://www.2advanced.com

The reason I like him is because his work is very actionpacked and smooth which are the most important things about flash to me.

There is lots of things I dont like about his work though.
He is getting really repetative and all of his work is the same. If I see something he made I can tell it was made by him before I actually find out. His work is very easy to recognize and he uses the same techniques over and over so I am getting fed up with him. He isn't creative anymore.
He always does these things over and over.
-uses bars moving back and forth over an object
-has arrows everywhere, look at anythig he has made, arrows everywhere!
-puts in really small text for decoration
-flashes a jpeg around a square
There is lots of other small stuff too.
His work is my favorite, but Im getting tired of him. Its always the same stuff with a diff color and name.
    http://www.2advanced.com
    http://www.jalvamedia.com
    http://www.lasikplus.com
There are all the same site with diff colors and names. That's all.

I dunno man I don't have a fav flash designer and I don't see all the hype about 2advanced ( no offense is a good site but there are way betrter ones out there).

    the one homepage
    http://www.cafe-infinity.com
does not go out of my head, I think it's one of the best sites, it's smooth, great sounds, neat media integrated and the site is enhancing while you are on it. (loading in the background) etc... so i really like that

one thing that bugs me is the people with the known names are considered to be great

but the best people i know aren't well known

most of the sites from the New Masters of Flash book suck
    http://www.friendsofed.com/interview_list.html
Just look at some of those. They are ugly, boring, and I personally think they suck.

This could be said of Picasso, Van Gogh, Rembrandt, or any other Master. If you think about it this can be applied to architects, writers, poets, fashion designers, etc., etc. If you look at the works of any painter, architect, writer, etc., style changes or evolves over a period of years. This is true of fashion itself. It is the means by which curators date paintings, determine which period a chair belongs to, building was built. Style in everything takes some of what is there and adds to it...it rarely makes a radical change in a completely different direction. OK, so maybe things change a lot faster than they once did, and there have been styles that seem to have come from nowhere (the Arts & Crafts Movement can seem this way and certainly the forms of the Art Nouveau period are something that seemed to come and go without having been much influenced by or having greatly influenced later periods, though even here it is not entirely true. The Arts & Crafts Movement was a revolt against mass produced goods that were of inferior quality; and both movements wanted to change from the "grotesque" forms that were in fashion at the time, and get back to nature. How long has it been since American designed cars were really pulled together? A company designs a car and two years later they throw away those designs and start from scratch, likely creating another car with headlights that don't really work with body etc.; yet if you look at many of the finer European manufacturers (at least in the past) they would improve their designs over the years, dedicated to a vision of a more beautiful car, and they achieved this end. I really hope that technologies fast pace hasn't made us bore so easily that the 21'st century is devoid of any art that will inspire and influence future generations.
    Anyone out there agree?

    i partially agree
you had some very good points
but tell me then, why do people freak out when someone makes a site like 2advanced? if anyone uses a layout with the doors like that they get the hell bashed out of them for copying. they didnt do that to the people you were talking about. anyways, there isnt alot of different ways to make a site layout.

err, the point if organised design houses it to have some kind of trademark, a recognition sign. Why does all Macromedia Software have the similar loading slpash screen (other than the Hillman did it). So the looks are similar. you see it and you know it is Macromedia.

Why does all Microsoft software look crappy. Because it is MS. their trademark.

So, all 2Advanced sites are similar. OK, i do admit the guy repeats himself (especialy at intros), but he is evolving. His first works were not that good...

And why didn't noone mention GMUNK.com . the guy is a genious. and all of his work also has trace of him. It is detailed, fast, zippy, it is Gmunk.

WDDG also (although wddg has more variety then 2A i must say).

That is what is all about: to make different sites/projects, but to leave trace of your style in it. Why is Flashkit all yellow and blue? So it looks alike.

ya, i think 2Advanced to be a wuss. It is kinda kinky, blah.

does not have the power of evil pupil or Wddg, or Gmunk.

    so enough

i'd have to agree. mike young is a great designer. agent vivid has mentioned most of his sites. i'll include yohan gingras too http://www.evilpupil.com . there seems to be alot of great designers emerging as of late. i'm still a joshua davis fan, http://www.once-upon-a-forest.com is one of my favorite sites. i really enjoy the experimental sites, one's that identify with sound, motion, and interactive design at a level that is rare in most sites. my final addition would have to be james patterson, originator of http://www.presstube.com for all the reasons mentioned above.

there is really too many to list, but these are the designers that popped into my head while i wrote.

I assume you all know him, and he's in the FK team since the beginning, cool ! absolute flasher and helped us all a lot... he's a "Mad Russian Flasher"

    DEN IVANOV

I tried to make his name in old Computer Basic style but vbulletin boards support no more than 2 spacing

...I agree, many people think that known names are the best designers. Den Ivanov is a great designer, and he is not 100% "business guy" who will only show up somewhere for his name. He's done so many things for FK, jukebox, map locator, music players, and many more...his site at http://www.cleoag.com
