    WAMP Server stopped working!!

I have had WAMP Server installed for some time, all of a sudden it stopped working.

It still starts, it still processes PHP but it will not work when I try to write to a .txt file. I put the same files on the web and it works fine.

I upgraded to WAMP Server2 and it still doesn't work right, any ideas.

Uninstall WAMP and delete the wamp folder on your C: drive (or wherever it is) then re-install. If you don't delete the folder then files get left behind and cause issues.

Could that be a permissions issue in the folder you are trying to write to?

I had problems with wamp not running because of Yahoo Messenger for example. Try closing all the other programs you have running and run it again... See if it runs then.

Right click on the folder where you are trying to write to and make sure that it isn't read only. What does the write command return in PHP?

I'm not that hard to imitate. Just make some random negative claim at Apple or anything else for that matter and then have nothing to back it up.

Had same problem. It seems, in the end, that Skype was causing a conflict. Once I shut it off, WAMP came up fine. Thanks for threads.
