I have a client who is balking at our 216k Flash ad. He is worried that the size of the ad will slow down the loading of the rest of the page on which the ad appears.

The ad is called by a 'shell' SWF that is minuscule (150bytes). I am trying to convince him that the loading of the page will not be slowed down because the page only 'sees' the shell SWF. Once the shell loads, the rest of the page will continue to load and the shell can do its work behind the scenes.

What I need is a reference to a good resource that will convince the client that I am right. Of course, if I'm wrong I would like to know so I can beg for forgiveness.

Can anyone point me to a Web site or book or whatever that will demonstrate my claim?
