    Angry Expired registration

I just reformatted my hardrive and asked for a new registration number. I received an e-mail stating my registration had expired. I was led to believe that if purchased this software, I would always be able to get a new registration number. This is not fair! When you buy a product, you should be able to keep it dammit!

Just to be sure, do you mean you did the following:

    - You went to the support page on the 3DFA website, and hit the 'Update Registration' button.
    - You put in the e-mail address you originally used to register the software, and the new computer number.

My understanding is that they should send you a new number by e-mail. If they didn't, I would check the license agreement, since I believe the original license was for 'unlimited upgrades'.

    Nope. You shouldn't.

I'd e-mail them again and ask them why they can't send a new number. Perhaps there was some confusion at their end.

The purchase tab in the software still says all registered users get free upgrades, and I've had lots of upgrades in the past, so I can't think of any reason why they wouldn't send you a new number.

If you have received a "registration has expired message", then it means that our system has determined that your pre-2005 registration may be being used on too many computers.

This testing seems to have been too aggressive, so we've turned it off.

If you recieved the message, just try to update again.
    Cheers,
