What are your plans for this summer?

    Going anywhere? Or just working?

I've started in a new job (just for this summer), as a guard in an oil drilling rig that's being built where I live (the biggest and most advanced drilling rig in the world actually). So far, I'm a bit bored. I'll have some time off between the 15th of August and the 15th of September.

Work mostly. Going to Atlanta at the end of the month for a few days and to Southern California (Valencia/Anaheim) in August.

I'm not that hard to imitate. Just make some random negative claim at Apple or anything else for that matter and then have nothing to back it up.

A few small trips back to NYC...Caribbean cruise in July, driving down the California coast in a few weeks, off to India and possibly Japan for work in late summer early fall. Mexico in the winter. Haven't travelled nearly enough in the last few years - making up for it now.

in the following rough order of importance:
    - work @ festival
    - work @ mobile thing (i have another 2-3 months in this contract and I think I'm doing a ****e job..)
    - work @ freelancing thing (decided to restart it)
    - work(out) @ gym
    - make 1-2 images by june 20
    - go out and socialise (work-related most of the time)
    - watch all of the dexter/carnivale/misc movies that a friend burned me two months ago
    - do my ABN and personal income tax thing (i need moar $$ and no way am I slacking off this year!)

and there's probably smaller things that I need to get done like get all my files sorted, etc

i come of age at the end of next month and i want to do something nice..

You always seem so busy. What age do you come of age where you're from?

    Thanks.

Yeah. I've found that the travel perimeter is significantly shortened while taking care of an under-one-year-old.

    Uh oh!

I'll be going to south-France for couple weeks to live with some friends in one of their half-built houses in the countryside. Then, I wonder over to Francisco to visit some family for 2 weeks, before I meet up with some other friends to go live outdoors in Nevada/Utah/Arizona for 3 freaking weeks! End up in Las Vegas, then fly straight to UK to end the summer watching Metallica headline Reading festival - **** yeah!

Then, I'd ideally like to find some employment, so I can feed myself. Failing that, I'll probably become a monk and join a Priory...

HA! You can take my life from my cold, dead, fingers! </irony>

In all seriousness though, my booze-fuelled summertime digression will actually be an attempt to escape from what is the pretty messed-up-beyond-repair life that I seem to be leading, not an extension of it

haha, ok keep your life, i just want your summer

my summer is going to be filled with doing DIY on the house. as we've run out of money we're going to be also putting up a couple of foreign students for the majority of the time....

hopefully get away somewhere camping for a week though (maybe new forest).
