iPhone 3G & 2.0
Just installed the update on my 1st generation iPhone. It's really well done, I'm very impressed. MobileMe push is amazing. There's already some great apps available, can't wait to see what's next! Having great fun with PhoneSaber at the moment - it detects how you wave your iPhone around a room and makes suitable light sabre noises. Yeah. You're jealous.
Anybody getting the new one (if they can)?

Apparently, my dad has been going around the house, "Who wants an iPhone? Who wants an iPhone?" and he's getting 1 or 2 in a month.
iPhones are out in Australia today.

I'll probably receive mine in a week or so... but honestly I don't even want it. The upgrade - I've been using it for the last 24 hours - and it's convinced me that this is the version of the iPhone that it was supposed to have been at version 1.0/release.
I'm not a "mobile warrior", that's why I've never been a fan of the Blackberry. I use wifi for most everything, so I tend to stick to/use connections like that... and I'm saving money by not going iPhone 3G per month.
But I'll be honest... I'm still not 100% sold on the iPhone. It's a good media phone. I got a couple of games, I've twittered from it, and even used Pownce - the newer apps, that is. But no copy/paste, no video record, it still handles MMS horribly, and it's still not a "complete" phone imho.

I'm getting it. My current phone is about to explode.

who cares? it's just another iphone with crappy internet hype for all of us geektoids. Anyone who buys one is just a bandwagon f**. Why aren't there threads for phones that work better and are more practical than another generation of a POS.
F it, man. F it.

FK's Official Mac Hater
It doesn't look like this week has been as smooth as Apple wanted. First the MobileMe servers go down for a day, then NVidia announces that the video card that's in the MacBooks have a problem and now the iPhone activation servers are down. Not only that about half of the iPhone 1 users who have upgraded have had major problems with the new firmware. I love reading Engadget and Gizmodo and seeing all of these problems yet they still have nothing but good things to say about the products.

I'm not that hard to imitate. Just make some random negative claim at Apple or anything else for that matter and then have nothing to back it up.

I couldn't agree more. Rampant fanboyism on these sites is ridiculous. They report, yet don't reflect the true nature of the story. The fact is that people who are loading up on these products on day one, predicting the failure of Blackberry, screaming about how iJobs will change the world are blind to any failure of the company at all. He could leave a flaming bag of sh*t on the doorstep of all early adopters and they'd still bend down to smell his stench.
I own several Apple products, but really don't get the 'can do no wrong' mentality. Whatev.
Incidentally, I want to punch this kid in the face...

Looks like a bad "What If?" situation... what if Jet Li was an Apple fanboy.

Fair enough, any hacked OSes out there? That's pretty much what I plan on doing anyway, when ever I get around to getting a new phone.
