hearing sound in timeline preview (cs3 pro)

ive just upgraded to cs3 and im confused.

i have a sound in the timeline, but when i press enter to play the timeline, the sound is not audiable. the sound plays fine when i use the "test movie" command.

this makes animating to music impossible. how can i make the sound play in the timeline preview?

select the first frame of your sound and on the properties bar set it to stream. this will allow you to scrub the timeline and hear/see the sound. you can also right click the sound layer title and increase the height of that layer so you can really see the shape of the sound.

If the sound is linked to the animation, it is a good ideia to set it to stream, as if you don't, when you play the animation (as an swf), the sound gradually goes out of sync with the movie.
