    a series I'm working on - comments

I've been doing a little recreational drawing lately trying to "find my style" I guess. I call the first one fly with wings. It's a little sarcastic, and pretty straightforward. I just wanted to see what everyone thinks. The second image I might have posted here before but I figured I'd show it again so that it can be viewed in series like I intend them to be seen. I'm going to print the two - plus more as I do them, on some large poster sized glossy unframed. Let me know what you think.

i love your style in the first one. great lighting on that.

however, on both of them, everything seems really tight to the edges, especially #2. .

Very nice. The efforts on the ground's (or table) design is conspicuously fine designed.

Both of them are great; however I will conquer with lefteyewilly that the pieces seem tight too the edges.

Is the second one done is charcoal by the way?

Thanks for comments guys. I think I knew they were off the edge right as I posted them but couldn't put my finger on it. Maybe I'll think up something to pull it together. The top one I had cut off right after the swatter was coming in to the picture but brought it up much higher which seemed to make everything look closer without moving it.

Evaman, no charcoal. It's my original pencil drawing of the image burned on top of the vector and blended in. I can't really remember too much all the steps but I overlayed it a few times and made some changes to give it that look.

Thank you both. Sorry for the late reply...

Had to look up conspicuously to know if the comment was a plus or minus. Thank you.

Here's another one I completed last night. I tried to keep things a little off the edges but still keep like I had them. How about this one? I can't think of what to call this one. I'm thinking Fathers, or maybe kids.

Very neat work! I can see that plenty of hours are spent in there. Excellent work on your light and shadows, not bad!

Not much that I can criticise on, but if I must, I'd say.. um... k, to get tidier on the perspectives and vanishing points (cos in I thought I'm seeing more than a couple of 'imaginary' horizon lines, or maybe I'm just picky~)

    Thank you both!

missestudios- If you think of who let me know! I think I'd like to see it.

Googooboyy- There are quite a few points drawn in there. On the last one I purposely put the but on one plane, and used slightly different points for the shoe above. I was trying to get the foot distorted like the fly swatter above, I did the same thing on both of those. I was going for movement on distortion, but maybe I didn't quite capture it.

Now that I think of it it reminds me a little of the cartoon rugrats- not so much in the line but the odd shapes of the characters when they would do close up shots - I'm thinking of the dog in particular.

I think your styles brilliant, I particularly like the fly in number one, something about him just really stands out for me. Although all of them are really good in my opinion!

Yeah, I had the images hosted on an old server. I posted this back at the beginning of September and removed them about a week ago. I didn't expect anyone else to post... You can see the them, I believe they are the first 3 or 4 images located in the digital section of my portfolio,
