no snow. no snow for over 10 years now. We may have had some between those 10 years but nothing that has stuck to the ground. And that snow ten years ago was under a foot and lasted 1 day....

No dice in the bay area, but we'll be headed to Tahoe a few times this winter.

    Snow?!

No snow. But, I love this time of year for the colors that come out of the trees. I haven't been able to understand it exactly, but it moves me.

No snow here yet but I could feel it in the wind last night. I've never seen an east coast winter so I hope I can acclimate.

I can't wait to go home and have the first HUGE blizzard. Then it can all melt away. I don't snowboard/ski so snow is useless to me.

I actually thought of that as I hit the post button. I love the different views that snow gives me from what may have been a boring scene in the summer. But the cold is almost a deal breaker for me. I HATE the cold.

no snow in Ecuador...lots of rain though.
The only times I've seen snow is when I went to a couple of volcanoes here, and when I went to visit the Grand Canyon.

I'd like some rain. We're on year 4 of a drought . The lows in the winter are mid to low 50's. A cold night is in the 40's. The days still hit 70's.

have fun with that. I've been in the snow belt of NY for 28 years now, and there's really no 'getting used to it'. You can tolerate it, but no 'getting used to it'.

The biggest thing to get used to revolves around the car. Everything takes at least 5-10 minutes longer to go from point a to point b, no matter what. Scraping the car, lower speed, bumper to bumper traffic, changing footwear, doning additional attire...and if you've got kids young enough to not be able to dress them selves...ugh. I couldn't even imagine.

the only real thing i absolutely hate is the scraping of the car. In WNY, when it rains in the winter, it gets really bad. 1/4" of ice in the morning is the norm, and if you stop your car for no more than 5 minutes, you'll have to rescrape. What a pain.

The main upsides are, we don't have to worry about hurricane's or major floods, and even for adults you can get a snow day every once in a while.

nothing here yet, but rainis coming this weekend...

lefteye hit it right on the head. I grew up a little south of Pittsburgh and we got a lot of snow every year, but the cold out here is different and I am still not totally "used to it".

No snow.. but it is a bit chilly, low 50s. This prompted me to turn the heat on yesterday. It was then I discovered that my furnace seems to be malfunctioning.
