[CS4] Is this too ambitious for a newbie?
I want to create a banner for my site that will look similar to the banner on the Formula1.com site.
http://www.formula1.com
I am only talking about the background and the effects when the mouse rolls over a section. The animation and the linking should be fine. From what I can gather, this looks quite tricky.
I just want to know more ore less how much work will go into something like this, how much actionscript will I need and if possible, could somebody please point me in the right direction as to how I start making something like this.
Thanks

I didn't study the banner too much in detail, but just looking at it, doesn't seem too difficult to reproduce. Basically, all it is are a few mc's with onRollOver/onRollOut with the tween class applied. HTH.

I agree with Robb. Something like this banner isn't script intensive at all. You'll want to look into MouseEvent, particularly CLICK, MOUSE_OVER, and MOUSE_OUT.

There's some video tutorials here:

Also Adobe has some Flash videos that might help you get started:

gotoandlearn has some nice tutorials too:

After you've had a go at tackling your project, come back with specific issues and questions and we can help tackle what you get stuck with.
It's a bit hard to help when it's quite vague.
