if you've played with Box2D...
... can you explain to me why the example "PhysTest.fla" is completely empty, yet compiles?

Document class is set to main.as which imports all the other classes.

How do you set the class path though? I looked everywhere. Searched Help for "class path" and couldn't find the info.
( My mission is to learn AS3 by 2009 )

When you know are.
To set the document class, you click the stage and it's in the properties window -- along with size, background, fps, etc.
For each individual Movieclip, you set the Class in the properties, similar to linkage in AS2.
If your goal is to learn AS3 ASAP, check out senocular's AS3 primer. Helped me out a ton when I was getting started. Also his Actionscript 3 Tip of the Day thread is priceless as well.
I hope you enjoy errors, errors, errors! haha. Good luck!

While we're on the topic, could anyone recommend an easy-to-apply AS1/2 physics engine? Just one suitable for setting up a quirky main menu for a website.

Hype over content...
Flade is pretty good, I've used it for a game before and it did all it was meant to ( Flade is the prequel to Ape ).
