Problem 1: Flash crashes when a Blur filter is applied to a TextLine object.
Correction: It was not the Blur filter but this line, which caused a crash:
trace(tb.findNextWordBoundary(5));
whereby tb is a TextBlock element.

MP3 files sampled at 42000hz and greater will not behave appropriate. play will occassionally stop at somewhat random positions, usually fairly deep into the sound channel's position. bug was observed when arriving at these positions by either natural progression (listening to track from 0), or arriving via sound.play(position) method calls.
fix: resample audio files to less than (?) 42000. i ended up using 24000 which worked across all files (many very long, 15 minutes +). at over 42000 and up, failure was consistent. i don't know the exact range that'll produce acceptable behavior.
I'm reporting this as a bug also. It seems that not everyone has had this issue, but I can't get rid of it for the life of me, and I know some other people have had it.
When you try and use multiple short sounds (for example in your average flash game), playing them quickly and together will result in horrible sound delays, and I also found it broke my event listeners for the duration of the sound. It wreaked general havoc, one may say.
Solution for me was to dig out the old CS3 program. Would you believe, the exact same file compiled from CS3 with no sound bugs.
Text changes location in same file between PC and Mac, fla and swf
I am adding this post to the bugs list as it received no replies but I am starting to get emails from people reporting that they are having this same problem and asking if I have found a solution which I have not.
working with CS4. when I am at the office I am working on a PC (windows XP).
When I go home and work on the same file I am using CS4 on a mac OS 10.5.
It started with a long line of text I had set in a long narrow background bar. I would notice it appeared too high so I would move it down. Then I would find myself moving it up.
I did this a few times thinking I must have just nudged it by mistake. Then I realized something was going on. Last night at home on the mac, I spent quite a while laying out many static text boxes perfectly on an 18 pixel vertical grid.
Today I opened that file at work and all off the text sat exactly 3 pixels below the grid line.
It is the exact same file, both machines have the exact same font files.
has anyone seen this?
It is not just in the design environment.
It displays differently when I test the movie, play the swf, or view it in a browser.
The swf made on my PC shows the text lower. Open the same file and export to swf on mac and the text is higher.
obviously it is a little difficult to clearly explain such a visual problem in words.
So I have put up a page with an explanation and screen captures of the same file done on PC and mac. That should make things pretty clear.

Yes, I've experienced it too. I'm not sure it's limited to CS4 or Player 10, and it doesn't seem to be consistent across all Macs. I work on PC, but on a job a few weeks ago, several of the client's employees were on Mac - this "behavior" showed up for at least 2 of them - it might have affected the others and just didn't get mentioned.
I noticed a couple of problems with CS4 on a mac.
1. CS4 crashes quite often, did not experience with CS3.
2. Even I have certain fonts installed, CS4 does not recognize these as system fonts and asked me to substitute them.

This may be a graphics card conflict, but sometimes when I test a movie the player will go blank. Actually it goes to the background color. I can bring the content back by resizing the window. Running OSX 10.5.6 on 2x3.2 GHz Quad-Core Intel Xeon, NVIDIA GeForce 8800 GT.
One thing that's funny.
Try to run a ExternalInterface.call to a javascript-function in a ENTERFRAME function, on a mac.
Then ad a timeline animation to the scene.
Then you will see that the fps changes and increases.
i can not draw anything in cs4 ???
I use colours
The layer is shown and a normal layer
When i use the subselection tool and click on something i have drawn (that is invisible) i get the lines and curves and adjustment points. But never a real line of filling.
When i try to publish, it crashes, always.
I updated to 10.0.2 and now it crashes even more.
Its not a tab
Its the last item on the properties panel when a mc is selected on stage.
select a movie clip on stage and scroll down your properties panel
should go
position and size
3d position and view
color effect
display
filters
I don't think it falls under the bug umbrella, as its there for pretty much everybody else.
No one really takes much notice of this old thread as CS5 is on the horizon.
If you want help with it I would suggest posting on the general flash board see if anyone else has had the problem.
have you done a uninstall and re-install?
I know when I installed the first time I had issues, I could not select anything on stage by clicking on it, only by clicking a frame in the timeline!
A re-install fixed it.
I did reinstall, doesn't work. I found an answer (not a solution) on the Adobe forum. It seems that the file I opened in CS4 was generated in Flash MX and under As2. That's why I couldn't see the Filters tab. If I open a new document the filters menu appears. Thanks anyway.
Hi I am just registered for this forum.
I just found a bug and here is scenario du reproduce the bug.
