    Convert text in images??

Not sure where to put this...maybe it should go in the html forum, but it's more of a software/converter sort of question.

I have a client with a website created by a graphic designer. All of the text on the site is done as jpg images (YIKES!!!). Anyway, they don't have the original text files and I was wondering if anyone knows of a way to get the text out of the images without having to re-key it all??

    Thanks!!

microsoft onenote does a nice job, you could download a trial and use that. I don't know of any general purpose OCR software other than what comes with scanners.

Cool...I tried SimpleOCR, but it didn't do a very good job...will onenote extract text from images??

I may end up re-keying it all. It's only 7 pages of info on the site, so it would probably be faster to just do that if I can't get the original files...

    jeesh!! designers! lol...

Acrobat Professional does OCR as well.

I'm not that hard to imitate. Just make some random negative claim at Apple or anything else for that matter and then have nothing to back it up.

Well, if you want to extract and get the original text files from the jpeg image file, I am afraid that you need to use an image converting tool that is able to be used to convert image to text without changing or affect the text quality and completeness, What do you think?

I think that Abbyy FineReader can help do this without any hassles.
