Due to the nature of the events themselves keeping it rolling is key. voting will continue till the end of the weekend, as well as the start or round 2 so that people that get swamped with work during the week can get a chance to throw something together over the weekend. im expecting a friday night-monday night round, then another monday-thursday

Ok everyone time for round two!

Round two is going to be "Fables and Fairy Tales: Tell a classic story in your image"
There will be no default stock. Your goal is to create an image based on a classic fable or fairytale.
750X400 canvas size, rotation allowed.

Deadline will be monday at 11:59pm est time

I know (at least I'm guessing, based on normal rules) that images used need to be royalty free, yes? Can we use our own photos for the contests as well??

LOVED the round 1 images. Some GREAT stuff there. Inspirational, and looking forward to finding out whose is whose and finding out how they did some of that!!

NICE!!!! Definitely going to push my skills and learn lots on this!!

of course you can use your own photos. ideally id prefer it if you didnt dress your kids up as fable characters and then put them in a cage with a live wolf but your the parent!

ill bypass this round. And to be honest, juggling between full time job and freelance as well as the pace of this competition is too fast for me to produce any work worth submitting. I'll just be entering 'some' of the round from now on. sorry guys

I can probably throw mine together by tomorrow night...I'll have to let the wolf go pretty soon anyway...he's getting pretty hungry and the kids are getting pretty scared...sure does help with the realism though...

im pretty sure we are going to extend it till mid week and then just do one a week. no point in only have 2 images this round so far.

Hmm...does that mean we're going to cut down from the initial 7 proposed events? I suppose you have to do whatever is going to give people the best chance to participate, and I know some events will be easier/faster than others, but I'm stoked for all of them and am looking forward to what I can learn from each one...

I'm still shooting for the deadline of today for this event, maybe if it's just pushed a day or so out it might help? I know some people have bad timing, work, etc. and, not having done this before, don't know if there's any sense in setting up all the events and having them all go until the end of March and doing all the voting, etc. at the end and have some sort of scoring based on number of entries, total score, etc...

Just throwing ideas out...causing problems...

well right now if we keep the deadline i have two images, mine and ctranters. ideally id like to see at least as many images as the last round. and so far only 2 other people have made mention that they might have something this week.

for the record ctranter would win between our two

I have been traveling this weekend and didnt even notice that round 2 was ending so soon. I think that the turnaround for this round was a little fast, especially for people who cant get started on it right away.
I would benefit from a 12 to 24 hour extension.

the deadline is being pushed to wednesday at 11:59pm est.

anyone that submitted an image(the two other then me) feel free to either keep working on what you sent or send something new(i like both already btw)

from this point on round a week.

So, does that mean only 3 more events?

Or, will this stretch into April? Or can some be either...or events where you select one of the two (or both and get the points for the best one)? Hmmm...that might not work if you only have one or two people choose one event...hmmm...I suppose I could feed the wolf and keep it for 2 more days...the hungry wolf makes the children scream more though...
Now, I've just got to spend some time figuring out which fairy tale I'm going to do...

i think it will stretch into april, or till people stop submitting, and i have gained enough points by default to win.
