    Sprite in AS3 ???

    Hi All,

I heard a new term called "Sprite" in As3. Is it a new display object [like Movieclip, buttons, etc..]?

Could anyone explain me in a simpler way ?

    Expecting your reponses

I don't have any formal education here, but by my understanding a Sprite is essentially a MovieClip sans timeline. You can do anything you can with a MovieClip with a Sprite, drag, fills, loads, etc, but there's no timeline, so goto() commands and the like no workie.

I've used them and seen them used for loading images, drawing shapes, etc.
