"Bendy" arrows that run along a path?

I want to create a graphic that is basically a bunch of arrows (with tails not just arrowheads) that follow a curvy path (guide layer)

The tricky part is that instead of the arrows being just "rigid" straight arrow graphics that ride along and orient to the path, I want the arrows to bend along with the curves in the path.

    Anyone have any suggestions?

Google for "Microsoft Expression". It is a vector graphics drawing program, still freely available, and is able to produce the graphics you want. You define your own 'strokes', and you can then freely edit them to assume any shape. I think there are arrows already built in to one of the stroke libraries. There are a number of export options.
