    Rotating Gears

    Hello,

I am trying to create what I thought would be fairly easy but I have hit a wall... I created several gears in Illustrator and imported them into flash and created an tween to show how they mesh this I got to work my problem is I now need the whole this to rotate while the smaller gears are still moving.

I hope that this is understandable.............

Hello I had a quick look at your FLA but still couldn't really understand what you are trying to do.

It is possible to copy all the frames of your animation and paste into a new movie clip symbol, then whole animation will then be nicely self contained meaning you can rotate everything at once if you want.

Is this what you mean? sorry for not understanding

    Thanks for the reply....

What I am trying to do is whole all four gears are rotating separately then while that is happening I would like to rotate them all together going clockwise. The outside ring is stationary .

I hope this make more sense

    OK, something like this maybe?

I only did it quickly so it still needs a lot of tweeking, your small gogs don't loop perfectly. But I think you get the idea.

It's pretty much as I described before. All I did was copy and paste your frames into a new graphic symbol (set to loop) then animated the whole thing with a motion tween.

I upped the frame rate too (avoid using 12fps, it looks bad)
