My 2 cents
IPL 2 is a major disaster. Not much fun in seeing local city teams playing out the whole tournament in another country.
The major fun factor was the massive crowd you get in India. They made a very hasty decision IMO.
They could have postponed it and waited it out till the elections were over and then could have made it happen in India, but no, instead they shifted it to South Africa (?).
I am sure the T20 World Cup in England will be much more interesting.

My two cents - I say we make it a bannable offense to post in this thread.

N' then I might just Jump back on An' ride Like a cowboy Into the dawn ........To Montana.
my 2 cents says zakp0 should stop reading/posting in a thread he has no interest in. It's easy for anyone ...If you're not interested in cricket make sure you dont bother to open it anymore.
Adit, I agree re IPL being played in another country, a total failure as far as I can see. the Indian crowds provide so much atmosphere, even for a TV audience, and while they tried hard in SA, it wasn't the same this year as last.
...ah, the good old days.

An interestin' cricket fact -
The United States was a participant in the first international cricket match.
United States of America v Canada (1844) was the first official international cricket match to be played. It was contested by the national teams of the USA and Canada. The match took place between 25 and 27 September 1844 at the St George's Cricket Club, Bloomingdale Park in New York.[1] Canada won by 23 runs.
...and for anyone interested enough in cricket to want to read a bit about it - http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Cricket
....LOL - I make myself laugh sometimes.

India toy with Ireland on way to Super Eights
India did not seem to be affected by the controversy surrounding the exit of Virender Sehwag in the t20 World Cup 2009, winning their last group game against Ireland by 8 wickets. After restricting Ireland to 112/8 in a rain-curtailed 18-over-a-side game, the opening duo of Rohit Sharma (52 off 45) and Gautam Gambhir (37 off 31) put on a 77-run stand to set up an easy win.

Indians are too much celebrated team. They already had their pocketful by signing and playing for IPL which is a money spinner and not a association of ICC. Beyond that, significant players had already chosen lucrative careers; Schewag - Hotelier, Dhoni, Yuvraj, Harbhajan - Modeling and Brand Ambassadors for International products.
Where the hell they will find time to play professional english men's gentle game!
As david petley rightly mentioned, "It is too bad that politics has thrown a shadow over the game", thanks to my country men like Mr.Lalit Modi who spoiled the gentle man's sport.
Am a ardent fan of cricket! No more! I lost passion for this quick version of cricket played.
I will always cherish, will watch and support the 5day test! Who ever plays it, irrespective of the country and race!
Long Live Test Cricket!
