Hi,
seems to be an odd font (Arial TUR)?
maybe because I am on a mac, if its Arial Turkish probably not odd on a PC.
I do not have it so giving a definite opinion is not possible.
I used plain Arial so it should be visually similar.
The text box top left location should not change no matter what the font so my comments should still be true.....
When I clicked on your text boxes, they were not on whole pixel locations, x325.1, y144.2 and x325.1, y198.2
Everything needs to be on a whole number, you should always try and do that in flash. So it should be x325.00, y144.00.
If text is inside a movie clip, the text must be on whole number co-ordinates and then the movieclip too. No matter if you have movieclip inside movieclip 20 times until you get to your text, every step should be on whole co-ordinates.
Other issues....
its white on a black background always hard on the eyes.
Its a skinny font which also makes that situation worse.
You can try a fatter font if possible, even just setting it bold instead of regular will make a big difference. That is a design decision I know. It still looks good I think,
It is also good idea to use a very light shade of grey instead of white, even a very dark grey instead of black for the background. True white text on black is never a good idea. The eye struggles with the edge.
try RGB 20,20,20 for black background, and RGB 188,188,188 for the text. A very similar feel but easier for the eye because of the lower contrast.
black is 0,0,0 white is 256,256,256. so by changing that difference to 20, 188 you have reduced the range by 48, almost 20% making it much easier for the eye.
I tried breaking the original size text apart then breaking again so that it was vector shapes. Made it into a movieclip and scaled that. Someone had suggested that in one of the replies, and I thought it sounded like a good idea. I was surprised, it did not seem to make a difference so I would just use text so its easy to edit.
Hope some of that helps

Hi Mark,
Yes i already tried and reported the breakup option didnt work earlier.
But i goofed big time because its actually supposed to be a grey text on black. Since i just made up this file afresh to illustrate the problem to you and overcome the attachment problem i forgot to set the correct color. Bt actually its supposed to be ash grey text on black background.
I wish i could have sent the orginal file to you.
Thanks anyway.

Hmmmmmm..... you're font seems fine.

To me it looks like the text with altered height at 53% falls apart around the "S." The text at 100% looks fine. I'd suggest either using a font that has a native height ratio that is the same as what you are trying to create by scaling. Alternately you could still scale and just replace the "S" with one from a different family that might be more robust.

Vlykarye > Thanks for looking.
bgregus > Hi yes, Ive noticed the deterioration around smooth curved areas mostly. Like you mentioned. Mostly around the S and other large curved surfaces. But i also observed that it holds up better when unscaled, which is why i mentioned that maybe my scaling is creating a problem. I will try to find a font with the basic structure of what im looking for. It just takes some hunting around. Thanks for your input.
