AS3 and AS2 can they get along?

    Hi,
I have a site that is a main movie which loads many self contained swf's by loading them into an empty movieclip in AS2.
All of these swf's are fully functional on their own.
If I re-write the main movie in AS3 can I load the AS2 swfs and have them work?
They are a bunch of flash tutorials and experiments etc.
I want to take the site AS3 from now on, I do not want to dump all the AS2 files from the site, but also do not want to re-write them.

AS3 loading as2 can be done. The issues is that they use different virtual machines to run. To get around this, you could have the communicate using local connection.
A little pain never hurt anyone

    Ok thanks,
I may just start and build a very simple AS3 that loads one of the AS2 files.
I am sure I will be back, not really sure what local connection is!
    I will do some reading.
Do you know of any tutorials or info on doing this?
    Thanks
