Interactive flash world map (update external xml data)

For one of my flash project I need to show an interactive flash world map with all countries, and each country needs to show a small popup infobox on mouseover event.

To save time I used an interactive map builder software (imapbuilder) to create the map quickly. Which works well for me because i do not need to draw the map by hand, and it generates data in XML format.

However this software is Windows based and I need to input the data manually everytime. Also the web server I installed the map file has no PHP support. Is there someway Flash used to modify data in a XML file? If it can read, it should be able to write?

You can't write to the xml file directly with just actionscript, you will need a server script to do that for you. It doesnt need to be PHP though, if php issnt supported on your web server its probably a window server so you would be able to use asp .net instead.
