    Anyone have a link to this adventure game engine?

    A while back (2-5 years ago?) someone posted a prototype for an "Alone in the dark/resident evil" type game engine.

    It was a 3d referred image overlayed with a polygon. If you click anywhere inside this (invisible) polygon, a 3d character walks there while maintaining the prospective.

    Anyone know what I'm talking about?

    it uses pre rendered backgrounds and masked planes in the scene to blend realtime objects with the rendering including some masking stuff.
