smooth typography

Has any one had any luck getting smooth non pixelated type in flash video (CS4/mac)? I'm getting better results than with CS3 but they aren't good enough. Here are the samples:

I tried bringing the .mov in directly and although it came through the quality was about the same as the attempt.

Any ideas!? I'm stumped!

I'll check this when I get in from work as I'm not allowed on your server. Is it actually pixellated? or is the issue compression artifacts?

well, my draconian firewall still won't let me see it. doh.

Despite the fact that I have yet to see your video, I can suggest a number of options:

- increase the bitrate;
- use a constant bitrate;
- change containers from f4v to mp4.

I don't know the speed of your work (sounds like mograph to me) but historically graphics, particularly ones with lots of speed and motion, do not encode well, period.

I've made a couple of DVDs recently at a high bitrate that were suprisingly poor quality because the encoder algorithm simply couldn't cope with the amount of speed, motion blur and detail in the source video.

You may have to boost your bitrate to over 3mbps and reduce the size if you want to see better results....

have you tried rasterising your text at the "right" size in the source programme?
