hot at MAX: deploy to iPhone :D
So yeah, usually Adobe shows off stuff at MAX.
While i can´t say anything on what that could be right now, we´ll all know more in a few hours :-)
So let´s have a thread for that
Anyone wondering/ excited about what it could be?

"Adobe is currently working to release Flash to most smartphones, with the notable exception of the iPhone."

i'm not interested in anything mentioned in the 10.1 release: http://labs.adobe.com/technologies/f.../features.html
udp support would be of interest if it wasn't some wonky, closed ****e.
srsly, ZERO INTEREST. kudos to apple for not going along.

i won´t give a rating to the whole presentation before its over and those in the know can´t talk before its made public anyway
But since this video is online for a while now and therefore public knowledge we can probably expect to see at least the same at MAX today:

(I hope we´ll see a good bit more, well, exciting stuff )

Sounds like it's not really Flash on the iPhone, just the ability to use the Flash IDE to compile an iPhone application. Still no support for Flash on the web browser, so it looks like Apple didn't really give in at all. It sounds pretty cool though.

Damn. If I had only actually tried the CS5 beta, I would have known about this!
This is AWESOME. Now I really need to learn AS3.

Absolutely...I suppose it should be changed to "delivery" of flash developed content on the iPhone instead of flash on the iPhone...still...a big plus for flash developers...

To Ray:
This is news also to any usual previous beta user.

Yes we can
also to Ray: yeah, that´s one of the downsides, i hate they haven´t updated their AS1 /2 api support and force people to use AS3 for such newer features.

I'm very exited about this. The only thing i'm wondering is the performance.

I´d like to talk with those who have some AS3 games and are interested in this. Drop me a line to b2b@stimunationgames.com

One must still be part of the Apple Developer program. Seems fair enough though.
I'm surprised that we actually get use of the accelerometer and tilt. I wonder if multi-touch will also be supported?
Performance seems to be the big question huh? I know my iPod Touch uses up battery juice really fast when playing games. Also the demos shown in that video above seemed to use really simple graphics. FickleBlox for example didn't seem to have smooth animation. Seems more like what we were limited to back in Flash 4 days. OH WELL. Better than nothing. We'll have to go back to our optimizing and no-filters days! ;-)

Hype over content...
Ironic that I actually did my first pixel bender kernal last night, although it's not exactly vital unless you're looking for faster 3D.
Apparently gestures and pinch zoom work.
It's excellent news all round though, I wonder how badly this is going to hurt Unity though ?
Squize.
