    iPhone Apps in Flash

    Yeah, I'm done learning Objective-C. Already signed up for the beta of CS5. Once that's out, I will be flooding the iPhone App Store with tons of stupid apps. Watch out!

    iPhone still won't have a Flash Player.

    Have you applied for your developer certificate from Apple yet?
    A developer certificate from Apple is required in order to test and deploy applications to iPhone. Apple provides information on its developer programs at http://developer.apple.com/iphone/

    No longer a Flashkit mod, not even by stealth

    Insanity is just a point of view. After all, the world looks pretty normal through your own underpants.

    Yep, I have a developers account. And the beauty of this is that it doesn't use a Flash Player or any type of VM. It's literally compiled down to a native IPA that runs on the iPhone.

    Have you tried the few available apps made in flash that are on the iphone? The thing that scares me, is that they seem a little slow. The roach game in particular. Navigation the menus was chuggy. But again, this is very early on.

    Without reading any of the articles, what about the accelerometer or multi-touch?

    I actually read the links and answered my question with a surprising "yes".

    The following native device APIs and functionality are supported:

    * MultiTouch
    * Screen Orientation
    * Saving images to Photo Library
    * Accelerometer
    * Geo-location
    * Cut / Copy / Paste

    I've been wanting something like this for Android since I got my last phone. I'm hoping that they start doing this for more platforms.

    I'm not that hard to imitate. Just make some random negative claim at Apple or anything else for that matter and then have nothing to back it up.

    **** Maemo. Not because I want it to fail... I just hate the opensource commandline loving nerds with zero design talent and the squares and rectangle mentality of an engineer dictating to me what I should want in an OS.

    True, I hate wizards. But I hate having to pop open the terminal, switching to root, then putting in some cryptic ass apt-get install --dkpg libpurple_0.1.1Alpha_non_cannon -rx | more --refresh -xyxaf command type of **** where I have to know the exact command.

    BBC iPlayer's been on the iPhone for almost a year now! Should have been on ages ago. And it should work in Europe too, please!

    It could, but at this time, I'm willing to bet it means that you can only use embedded video.

    I sure hope you're allowed to stream h.264 across the web. I don't see why you wouldn't be able to. :/ They do mention rtmp working, which Hulu uses. I don't see any legitimate reason as to why you wouldn't be able to stream videos like normal. That'd be a HUGE downfall if you're unable to.

    Mind you, I'm only guessing. But with that said... it could happen. I just don't see it happening until Hulu finds a way to make money from it.

    I have a question about this and what the possibilities are going to be and it may seem odd.

    Do we think it will be possible to create Flash based graphing using XML and sent from a server? I have some ideas on applications that would be pretty cool for my industry if you can dynamically update graphing for Flash using the iPhone.

    ANY thoughts would be great!
