"On October 26, 2009, your GeoCities site will no longer appear on the Web, and you will no longer be able to access your GeoCities account and file," Yahoo wrote in a statement to GeoCities users.
that's sad, such memories...oh well..

In 1999 Yahoo paid $3.65 billion (!) for geocities.com & $5.7 billion (!!!) for broadcast.com (ever heard of it?). What a great investment!

Wow that actually kind of sucks. You could always find old game roms and stuff on geocities sites.
Ha, I remember about 7 - 8 years ago when I'd do a search on Google geocities seemed to be a lot of the results.
Oh well. =/

Good old Geocities, I think I started out making websites with that. It's a piece of Internet history from my time as a kid. But Yahoo is just terrible at investment.
