Unhappy Flash Player resolution not set?

I have both Flash Player 9 and Flash Player 10 as exe files in a "C:\tools" directory, and I open the swf files with them. I've done this since the Macromedia Flash 5 days, and I'm set in my ways. However, recently, I've noticed something strange.

Whenever I open a Flash file, the projector displays the resolution I last used. This happens no matter what way I display a Flash file. I could compile/test from within Flash CS3, and the resolution would be messed up.

I was just wondering what would be causing this. I have not tried reinstalling yet, but I'm about to. I just want to know what the cause of the problem could be. I would like to avoid this problem in the future.

EDIT: Forgot to mention, I still get the right resolution within a webpage. This seems to be because the resolution is controlled by the webpage and not the swf file.

GetLives Arcade: Play games, nothing else.
This site is nothing but Flash-powered games. If you're bored, try a few of them.
