    resolved [Resolved]Display.MovieClip question

    Hi, I am new to this movie clip stuff and is still not very familiar with AS3, so I hope someone can help me out with my problem.

    I have a fla source that I need to compile. When I tried to compile, there's a few errors.

    1017: The definition of base class faviii was not found.
    5000: The class 'faviii' must subclass 'flash.display.MovieClip' since it is linked to a library symbol of that type.

    But here is the problem, faviii is extending from another class and that class is already extending from the MovieClip.

    public class faviii extends favti

    import flash.display.MovieClip;
    public class favti extends MovieClip

    Since favti is already extending from flash.display.MovieClip and faviii is extending from favti, I don't really understand what the problem is. Any help would be helpful.

    Thanks

    Could you attach some source code for review?

    Those errors sound like Flash is not finding favii.as at all. Make sure that it is in the correct directory and that Flash's classpath is correct.

    Thx for the help. The project really wasn't linking to the correct directory so it wasn't compiling.
