    NYC at night

So New Yorkers. What are some good(cheap) spots to entertain yourself with in the city alone at night? I will be leaving very early this coming Friday to help out at the New York Intneraional Gift Fair. I will be there for a full week. I only work 9-6 so nights are free.

Also on the lookout in my house for a ****ty backpack to wear to put my camera in. Not about to wear my real camera bag out on the street at night. HEY MUG ME!

Last time I went I saw Alex Grey's art exhibit but not his Chapel of Sacred Mirrors so I might have to check that out at least.

    this looks awesome: http://www.brooklynmuseum.org/exhibi...rock_and_roll/

Tim Burton exhibit at MOMA as well: http://moma.org/interactives/exhibit...009/timburton/

Damn if I have time to get to all of this stuff it might end up being a very good week.

Make sure you hit MOMA on Friday night. They stopped the Thursday evenings after summer. I got to see the Highline this summer. As a lifelong NY-er I found it very cool -- and it's open late. There's lots going on in that area at night - restaurants/bars/people watching too. Hit the East Village and LES, though none of that is what it was 10 or even 5 years ago. Still cool to think about Basquiat throwing up graffiti and, well...just plain throwing up all over Avenue B.

That Highline thing looks really cool. Added. I hope I can get to even half of this stuff. Sucks that I have to work till 6 every day so most of my wandering will be in the dark.

Bum around the Village, you'll find plenty of cool stuff. Fat Cat Billiards on Christopher is cool on a Friday/Saturday night.
