Help disabling button in a diffrent MC

ok so i have a movie clip inside of another movie clip and i want to disable the buttons in the first movie clip until i click a button making it go back to the first movie clip. How would i go about doing this?

i'm very very willing to help (i'd love to!) but i just don't understand what your trying to say... what do you mean:

ok sorry for not being clear. I have a movie clip lets call this MC1 that has another movie clip inside of it last call this MC2.

So i have button inside in of MC2 and i want that button to disable all the buttons on MC1. I hope that clears it up a little bit.
