Pulsating buttons
Hi,
I'm trying to develop some type of widget and I want to bring emphasis to a button. I was thinking of some kind of pulsating effect. My problem is that I'm a s/w developper and not an artist. Can any one suggest example of effects? Button templates would be also great. I usually can reproduce and modify a bit to suite my needs but I don't have the skills to come up with something totally new and exciting ...
Thanks!
Yves

I wouldn't have thought you needed to be an artist to make a button pulse! How challenging is that? The main thing to remember is that subtlety works best. There are plenty of template sites and so on out there to give you ideas...

I did create my own buttons but I was looking for some more examples. I have looked around and didn't find anything interesting thus the call for help and hopefully useful links. Thanks for answering back but there are no need to be condescending. Everybody have their own strengths and mine is programming. For me creating a Flash/Flex application from scratch with all the bells and whistles using elaborated design patterns is not challenging but it is for others. I have helped many people in these forums (and others) and have never tried to make them believe they were stupid for asking.

Didn't mean to offend. That wasn't my intention. Adding pulses to buttons? You could do worse than taking a look at how recent versions of Windows deals with, well, windows. The minimise/maximise/delete buttons at the top right of windows are quite subtle, but still effective.

Hi Goliard,
Thanks for the reply. I have seen some of these links and will explore the others. Sorry if I misinterpret your comments ...
