    I know I said I don't like HDR but...

I couldn't resist doing an HDR render of this photo I took today in St Patrick's on my trip to NY:

Churches are the best place to do HDR. Very nice.

I still have photomatix running although I very rarely use it after probably over using it too much when I first got it.

The shot was at something like 1200 iso so there was a fair bit of noise but I needed a quick shutter speed as I had to hand hold the camera (no tripods allowed). I only took 1 shot/exposure (RAW) and just ran that straight through photomatix.

The settings - can't remember the photomatix settings but don't think I used anything too extreme. I think I played around with the highlights and shadows softening to get a nice glow from the lighting.

Sorry I can't give you the exact settings but I think you'd figure it out if you played around with it.

Oh yeah - after photomatix, I ran it through PS - just a noise reduction and maybe a touch of levels but nothing too drastic. I tried sharpening but it looked to craggy so didn't bother with it.
