Flash email client

Hi
i am looking to make a flash email client similar to gmail but made in flash for a school project. it would rely on the users existing gmail/hotmail ect, email. I have found one tutorial which is pretty old here:

but thats all i could come up with after a few hours on google so if anyone knows and tutorials or has a good place for me to start that would be great.
