They need to just make some other game and let this die. It could be the most amazing game ever and it will still "suck" from all the build up.

Now that I've been dealing with the game industry for a few years, this makes me laugh. The number of projects that start -> hold -> restart -> terminate -> revive -> hold -> release is truly astonishing. Lots of strong studios make games that get shelved for a year OR MORE for purely financial reasons (don't want to compete with another specific game, or they want to move revenue into a different quarter/year, etc).
The name recognition is strong, which counts a lot more than a lot of the other no-name titles coming out in 2011. It may make it. It'll probably sell pretty well once it does.

Wait, are they settling for a mobile phone playable remake this time, cos that sounds like one of the latest fad or platform to be developing on eh? I suppose even if they came up with a trailer for this latest development, I'll take it with a pinch of salt please.

At this point, I will go out of my way to not buy it. There have been so many excellent franchises that have come out since Duke Nukem... This rumor is akin to:
"Man, I wonder when Foghat is gonna make a new album?!"
I, for one, couldn't care less. :-)

that was what most people call disbelief. I don't think it will come out. 15 years after the initial announcement, almost half my lifetime... and it's still not out.
but if it does, it's like bagging Sasquatch... or one of your last dates
