    How crap is flashkit!

I have been a member for quite a long time now and I can say that without a doubt that the design, functionality, look and feel of flashkit.com is one of the worst out there. I quite postitively hate this site. It's slow, buggy, awkward to use, old fashioned in looks.......just basically ****e actually.

Come on update the ****ing thing wont you!

8 years, 4 posts... you definitely win the lurker of the decade award.

As far as the complaints about usability, et al... what do you propose? I'm being dead serious. I too would love a refresh to the site.

I just wonder if the people that own it have the resources.

We’re waiting for this style to come back in again. Won’t be long now, just you wait.

Just my 2¢... I'm constantly getting errors in the debug 10.1 player when I use this site and roll over one of those lame snapshot or whatever, double-underlined "links". Throws an error every time. Not running the debug right now so I can't tell you what it says.

Come to think of it, it only seems to happen w/ 10.1 debug + chrome on mac, but that's crazy and wouldn't make any sense.

Other than that, the site's fine. It would be better in white on black 9pt monaco, but it's almost perfect.

I constantly fantasize about a complete reskin, a database scrubbing and a move to a RESTful api.

It does have that '99 html look.

    But I still love it.

If the yellow look was changed then it would no longer be flashkit.

I think the best board skins are those IP Board has. It looks way better that vBulletin, imho.
As to additions, I guess any forum has to have a system of user reputation. Or at least a "Thanks" button under a user post.

To yellow skin. I don't like it, so I changed it to the grey one right away. Even though it's not that good too. Flashkit definitely lacks of good skins. It'd be great if you added a couple of other skins. Something with white background and brighter headers.

Got to laugh when you see a comment like that on any forum with a post count also like that.

You're not Robinson Crusoe with that one. I loathe the advertising.

    lol

Why don't you use ad blockers? My KIS 2010 blocks all the banners and stuff like that, and there are lots of different programs that can do the same, for any OS, eg adMuncher. Or am I Robinson Crusoe with ad blocking software?

Many of them can be adjusted for a particular domain. You could add board.flashkit.com to it and enjoy flashkit with no ads while still seeing them on any other sites.

I invariably get clients who need flash banners built shortly after I install an ad-blocker. Without fail I'll forget I've just done so and waste time debugging my ad. I've decided to suffer the ads rather than the feeling of stupidity.

I have been a member for quite a long time now and I can say that without a doubt that the design, functionality, look and feel of flashkit.com is one of the most re-assuring things out there. With all the changes (online and in life), updates, new looks, etc. out there, it's nice to be able to find some stability in a well established, functional site. When I need to find answers, I know exactly how to do it, where to look, who to ask, etc. I quite positively love this site. ....just basically rocks actually.

Come on keep it the **** same, wont you!

...and I guess there should be a warning about discussions of adblockers.

The owners of this site have made it clear in the past that they will not long tolerate talk of stuff which may affect their bottom line (advertising is what keeps this site available, and nothing more - not love of SWF authoring).

They have deleted posts and topics on this in the past, so do not be worried when this thread, or some posts on it, just dissappear.
